Reproductive Anatomy and Physiology
In order to understand and use the Justisse Method you need to have an awareness of how your fertility works. This begins with a practical understanding basic reproductive anatomy and physiology.
Female Reproductive System
The uterus is a pear shaped muscle located in the lower region of the pelvis. The ovaries are almond shaped organs located on either side of the uterus. Within the uterus is a cavity. The cavity has a lining called the endometrium. The lower part of the uterus, projects part way into the vagina and is called the cervix. Lining the inner canal of the cervix are the cervical crypts. The cervical crypts produce cervical mucus. In healthy menstrual cycles, cervical mucus is produced only when you are fertile; the rest of the time you will produce no cervical mucus, and you will have a sensation of dryness at the vulva.
